Keynote Speakers

 

Gary Cox, JD has served as Executive Director of the Oklahoma City-County Health Department (OCCHD) since 2009. He offers more than 45 years of public health experience and includes in his leadership experience Past President to the National Association of County and City Health Officials. He has served on various national, state and local public health boards. Executive Director Cox has dedicated his career to improving health and raising awareness at the grass roots level. He is committed to leveraging private and public partnerships to improve community health outcomes and committed to a culture of health and continuous quality improvement, evidenced by OCCHD's designation as one of the first local health departments to pursue and achieve National Accreditation.

Gary Raskob is Dean of the College of Public Health, and Regents Professor of Epidemiology and Medicine, at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA. His research and scholarly interests are in the prevention and treatment of thrombosis, especially deep-vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism; clinical trials and prevention research; evidence-based medicine; and the translation of research evidence into practice and health policy.

Dr. Raskob is active in public health service at the local, national and international levels. In his local community, Dr. Raskob serves as Chair of the Board for the Oklahoma City-County Health Department, which provides public health service for the 1.3 million residents of Oklahoma County. He is a past Chair of the Board of Directors for the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH), which represents the accredited schools and programs of public health from more than 100 Universities in the United States and internationally.
